What causes jewelry to tarnish?
Metals react to everything around it— air, water, hair products, your own pH (!). Tarnishing happens to all metals, some more quickly than others, through oxidation.
What can I do to remove tarnish and polish my jewelry?
An easy fix to tarnished jewelry is to buy the “Jewelry Care Kit”! After years of metalsmithing, someone told me of these pads and absolutely blew my mind. They are the best, easiest method for polishing I’ve come across. Each pad is soft, dry, and embedded with a polishing compound that stays on the pad. You can keep using them for as long as they will work. I dispose of mine once they’re all black.
So no need to get out intense chemicals, baking soda, or ketchup. Just buy these pads, you won’t look back.
